NOMINATIONS FOR NOLLYWOOD AMBASSADORS AWARD 2017.
The Nollywood ambassadors Award (NAA) is an annual event focused and dedicated to the sustenance of growth and development of the country’s movie industry by recognizing and awarding the industry's brand ambassadors. We are
requesting the public to oblige it with nomination of reputable Nigerians with interest in the country’s movie industry for consideration for its inaugural edition of Nollywood Ambassadors Award.

No doubt, the narrative of the Nigerian movie industry known globally as Nollywood is one that is evidently indicative of a socio-economic enterprise with an unimaginable prospect. Notwithstanding its relative young emergence in the universal movie market having been berthed in Nigeria in 1992, the Nollywood industry has today become an enviable artistic cultural vehicle with which the African perspective is communicated to the world.

Besides, the Nollywood film industry has transcended from just being about entertainment in the present day to assume the status of a moneymaker. Acclaimed by major industry players to rank as the third largest movie business in the world after India’s Bollywood and America’s Hollywood, the industry currently accounts for 1.42% of Nigeria’s GDP as it is known to employ more than a million people directly or indirectly.
Put together, this cheering tales of a sector which many have aptly described as work-in-progress could not have been without the selfless and unrelenting efforts of some individuals and groups whose love and interest for the movie/entertainment sub-sector of the most populous black nation on planet earth have made a world of difference.
It is against this backdrop that the NAA (Nollywood ambassadors Award ) team has set machinery in motion to bestow Award of Recognition on deserving individuals and groups who can be looked upon as the Ambassadors of Nollywood as well as capable of filling the gap in the area of funding and financing which remains a challenge for the nation’s filmmakers.
We are therefore requesting from the public to come up with nominations of Nigerians that fall into this category for our consideration and conferment of Recognition Award (Nollywood ambassadors Award)which is ultimately aimed at repositioning the industry.
